Intro

Hatshepsut has survived the test of time. From her reign as Pharaoh in Egypt beginning around 1480 BC, she continues to grace us today with her elegance, beauty, charm, and will. The latter part, in particular. For Hatshepsut lived with a uniquely indomitable strength. It's one reason for her becoming a Pharaoh in a time when few women held that title. And even after she passed away, when attempts were made to erase her from history, she persevered. As she always did.  

Early Years

Born around 1507 BC, Hatshepsut, the daughter of Pharaoh Thutmose I and Queen Ahmose, entered the world as a member of Egypt’s Eighteenth Dynasty. Her given name, Hatshepsut, meaning “Foremost of Noble Women,” would prove quite apt as she demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for leadership and authority from an early age. Though even that title was incomplete, as both then and later in life, she would lead everyone.
